About Coqueiral Media Group
An independent audio studio in Lansing, Michigan, founded in 2016 by John Smith and still run the same way: small team, named producers, written commitments.
Built by an engineer who got tired of stations going quiet
John Smith spent ten years as a maintenance and broadcast engineer for community stations across the Midwest. The recurring problem was never talent — it was infrastructure. Shows were recorded well and then lost to a misconfigured encoder, an expired feed or an editor who had moved on without documentation.
Coqueiral Media Group opened in Lansing in 2016 to close that gap: one studio that could write the script, run the session, master the audio, host the stream and keep the paperwork tidy afterwards. The name comes from the coastal community station that gave John his first shift behind a console, and the palm in our logo is a nod to it.
Nine years later the studio is still seven people. We have turned down growth that would have meant sub-contracting production, because the reason clients renew is that the same producer answers the phone in year three as in week one.

Our values
Say what the work will cost, do the work, hand over the files. Audio is a craft business and it survives on repeat clients, not on funnels.
Our equipment
Two treated live rooms, a Neumann and Shure microphone locker, Dante-networked interfaces, redundant fibre and a mirrored streaming stack in two data centres.
Our commitments
Written turnaround times, transparent pricing, no automatic renewals, and a plain-English privacy policy you can actually finish reading.
